Tim Barker

Baseball: 1984-85

Hall of Fame:
Class of 1999

Tim Barker, despite playing only two seasons at UCF, is one of only four athletes in UCF history to have a jersey retired. Barker came to UCF from local Seminole Community College and played for Coach Jay Bergman in 1984 and 1985.

During his senior season, Barker was named All-American and was a finalist for the Golden Spikes Award, which signifies the nation's top baseball player. During that 1985 campaign Barker set an NCAA records for stolen bases (104) and hits (142).

Barker still claims the No. 1 spot in UCF history with a .389 career batting average. He also ranks at the top of the chart with 144 lifetime stolen bases in a UCF uniform. Barker's single-season marks of 85 games played, 324 at-bats, 92 runs, 142 hits, 190 total bases and 104 stolen bases all remain program records.
