ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – A red-hot national recording artist, Food Truck Wars and many other activities will highlight the second UCFastival, which leads up to the 2017 UCF Football Spring Game on April 22.
The 2017 UCFastival will begin at 11 a.m. IOA Plaza and much of the area to the west of Bright House Networks Stadium will be alive with activity. The UCFastival concludes at 5:30 p.m., with the UCF Football Spring Game set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. inside the stadium.
The UCFastival will be headlined by country music star Lauren Alaina. The Georgia native captured America's hearts when she appeared on Season 10 of American Idol. On Jan. 27, Alaina released her eagerly anticipated Road Less Traveled album, which followed up on her No. 1 debut album. Alaina wrote all 12 songs on the latest release, including Top 10 hit and title track "Road Less Traveled." Alaina will take the stage at the UCFastival at 4:45 p.m., with the gates to the stadium set to open following her set.
The concert stage will be busy at the UCFastival. Local artists Trickle Down will play early in the day. Justin Grimes will hit the stage at 3:50 to serve as the opening act for Lauren Alaina.
Knights fans taking part in the UCFastival will not go hungry. Food Truck Wars will be bringing the best food trucks in Florida to compete at the UCFastival. Food Truck Wars will feature more than 40 gourmet food trucks from all over the state. Each truck is competing to win awards such as Top Ticket Taker, Top Food Sales, Delectable Desserts, Casual Cuisine and the highly-coveted People's Choice Award. A portion of the proceeds from Food Truck Wars will benefit local charities.
In addition to the concerts and Food Truck Wars, there will be plenty of other activities for the entire family. Beginning at 2:30 p.m., hot air balloon rides will be available.
At the Fun Zone, there will be inflatables for the family, including an obstacle course, kick ball and of course, a huge, inflatable Knightro. In addition, the Fun Zone will include rides such as The Adrenalator, The Ballistic carnival swing and a human hamster wheel that makes your own snowcone treat. Caricature artists and UCF-themed sand crafting will also be among the entertainment options.
The day's activities will also include appearances from WWE NXT Superstars.
The UCFastival Spring Football VIP Experience, which includes the best access to the concert, a selection of complimentary food, adult beverages and soft drinks and a private performance by Lauren Alaina are available at just $49 for adults and $25 for children. The Spring Game will be played at 6:30 p.m. inside the stadium. All UCF Football season ticket-holders will receive free admission to the game.
