LAKE BUENA VISTA, Florida (UCFKnights.com) - In front of another packed crowd inside the HP Field House at Disney's Wide World of Sports, the UCF cheerleading team was notched its ninth-straight top-five and second runner-up finish at the College Cheerleading National Championships Sunday evening.

Competing as the first of 13 teams in the Division IA finals, the Knights took second place overall while Kentucky took the overall crown for its 20th National Championship. Alabama placed third, Ole Miss fourth and LSU rounded out the top five.

The Knights have now placed in the top-10 of the College Cheerleading National Championships 19 times in the last 21 years under head coach Linda Gooch, including national titles in 2003 and 2007.

The KnightMoves dance team also finished in ninth place in the Hip Hop Dance division, marking the second-best finish in the group's history. The squad came in eighth place back in 2008.
