ST. PETERSBURG BEACH, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - While UCF and Rutgers will clash in the St. Petersburg Bowl presented by Beef O'Brady's Dec. 19, the two schools met on St. Petersburg Beach Dec. 18 in the "Battle of the Bands." The event was located at the TradeWinds Island Resort, and the UCF cheerleaders went undefeated vs. the Rutgers cheer team in the annual tug-o-war contest.

Check out the link above for a photo gallery of the action.

Round one pitted five male cheerleaders from each team and UCF cruised to the win. The second round featured eight female cheerleaders and once again the Knights took down the Scarlet Knights.

In the third round, three men and three women from UCF joined forces and even though Rutgers asked to switch sides, the Black and Gold fans rooted on as UCF grabbed another win to bring home the trophy.

The Battle of the Bands took place earlier in the day with both bands playing on the beach. Knightro spent some time hanging around the pool and in the hair salon prepping for the big game.
