ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF cross country team reigned as the champions of the FLRunners.com Invitational for the second year in a row on Friday night. The Knights racked up four top-10 finishes, led by sophomore Anne-Marie Blaney's gold-medal-worthy 5K run.

Blaney retained her crown from last year's meet and picked up her fourth-career first-place finish along the way. She bested the field of 42 by nearly 30 seconds, clocking 17:24.90 to claim another performance among UCF's all-time top 10.

Sophomore Amy Ankli clinched the best placing of her career at No. 4 with her time of 18:32.50 and classmate Heather Classe followed right behind her at 18:37.30, matching the best finish of her career, which she also posted at last year's meet.

Junior Amelia Williams also placed among the top 10 in eighth with her time of 18:58.40 while sophomore Alyssa Hamel tallied points in 12th place with a collegiate-best time of 19:26.10.

Senior Ne'Ausha Logan shined with a new personal-record performance of 19:33.50 and senior Erica Winston improved her season-best time, posting 19:36.40.

The Knights topped the other four Division I programs that competed: Jacksonville, Stetson, FIU and Bethune-Cookman. UCF's next meet takes place Oct. 12 at the Disney Classic in Lake Buena Vista.
