ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - UCF sophomore Anne-Marie Blaney's impact for the Knights is undeniable, and it seems she is rapidly becoming one of the American Athletic Conference's most promising competitors. The Ocala, Fla., native was named the league's Cross Country Athlete of the Week on Tuesday for the second-straight week.

She is the first American XC athlete, male or female, to earn multiple weekly honors.

The Ocala, Fla., native earned bronze in a field of 270 runners at the Mountain Dew Invitational in Gainesville this past weekend. She clocked 21:20.72 in the 6K race, eclipsing her previous spot in the UCF record book as the second-best time ever run by a Knight.

Blaney earned UCF's first conference athlete of the week distinction since 2006 on Sept. 10 after her dominant win at the USF Invitational where she topped her personal best to break a 13-year-old 5K school record.

The Knights are taking a short hiatus from competition before traveling to Titusville on Sept. 26 for the FL Runners Invitational.
