ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF cross country team will continue its preparation for the Conference USA Championships Saturday morning at the FSU Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla. The women's meet is slated for an 8:10 a.m. start time.
"We are excited to compete in this meet against a strong field," said assistant coach Tyangela Sanders. "Our runners have worked in the past week to prepare for this event. We have consistently had numerous runners improve on their personal bests each week, and we expect to continue that trend at FSU."
In their previous meet, the Knights finished fifth at the Mountain Dew Invitational in Gainesville, Fla. Four UCF runners posted personal bests at the meet, led by senior Shantile Blackburn, who crossed the finish line in 18:50.47.
UCF is currently ranked 15th in the region in the latest USTFCC South Region rankings. The host Seminoles are ranked first in the region as well as second nationally.
