ORLANDO, Fla. - ( – UCF cross country’s Anne-Marie Blaney will close out the regular season as the American Athletic Conference cross country Athlete of the Week, yet again.

Blaney captured her fifth award this season, out of the seven possible opportunities given to American runners. She remains the only cross country athlete, male or female, to earn multiple weekly awards.

The UCF sophomore led the Knights to a second-place finish in their final regular-season meet, the UCF Cross Country Classic, after finishing first individually with a time of 21:34.46. She bested the field of 77 division-I athletes, which included runners from Miami and FIU among others.

Blaney has recorded a top-three finish in each of five her races this season to earn UCF's first conference athlete of the week distinction since 2006 following the Knights’ victory at the USF Invitational on September 1. She then earned four subsequent awards on Sept. 6 and 17 and Oct. 1 and 15.

With UCF’s regular-season complete, the Knights will head to East Hartford, Conn. On Nov. 2 for the American Athletic Conference Championships.
