UCF Baseball Begins 2014 Campaign with Free Admission on Opening Knight

First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.

-Selected in the fourth round (No. 135 overall) of the 2013 MLB First-Year Player Draft by the Cincinnati Reds
-Wrapped up his three-year career with the fourth-lowest ERA in school history (3.06), while also ranking seventh all-time with 21 wins
-Became the first pitcher since Tim Bascom in 2005 to notch 100-plus strikeouts in a season, and finished his career with 226, seventh all-time at UCF
-Earned All-Conference USA Second Team honors once again after going 7-5 in 15 starts with a 2.04 ERA, 28 walks and 101 strikeouts
-On opening night, earned the victory by striking out five in 6.0 innings of work, surrendering no earned runs (2/15)
-Picked up the win, allowing one run on three hits, while striking out six in 7.0 innings vs. UConn (2/22) -Earned the victory against Winthrop (3/1) by tossing 8.0 innings, allowing no runs and striking out nine in the process
-Threw 8.0 innings vs. Jacksonville (3/8) and dominated batters with 11 strikeouts, allowing no earned runs
-Tied his career-high for the second-straight week with 11 strikeouts in 7.0 innings to earn the over Columbia (3/15)
-Filthy in 8.0 innings of work at UAB (3/22), earning another victory after striking out nine and allowing no runs
-Tossed 7.1 innings vs. Southern Miss (3/28) and allowed no earned runs on four hits
-Pitched a complete game and surrendered six hits, two walks while striking out five at Memphis (4/5)
-Finished the afternoon by going seven innings, allowing six hits, four earned runs, one walk and three strikeouts in the win at No. 14 Rice (4/13)
-Went 7 2/3 frames, scattering seven hits while allowing one earned run and striking out nine Marshall (4/19) batters to pick up career-win No. 20, good for ninth on the all-time list
-Went six innings while scattering three hits, five walks and one earned run in a no-decision against No. 30 Houston (4/27)
-Did not factor in the decision at No. 8 Florida State after tossing six innings and surrendering two runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts (5/3)
-Put together his best performance as a Knight in a four-hit shutout at East Carolina (5/16) with one walk and seven strikeouts
-Became the fourth pitcher in school history to earn Conference USA Pitcher of the Week after his complete-game shutout(5/19)
-Final start in a UCF uniform came in the Conference USA Championship against Memphis in which he went six innings with six strikeouts (5/22)

-Was the Knights' top option on the mound in his sophomore season with a 9-2 record in 13 starts and 19 appearances
-Led the team with 84 strikeouts in 81 innings of work while earning All-Conference USA Second Team honors
-Became UCF's first nine-game winner since Tim Bascom won 10 in 2005
-Pitched five innings against LIU Brooklyn (2/18), allowing one run to earn his first win of the season
-Struck out 11 and allowed four hits in six innings of work in a victory against Boston College (2/24)
-Threw five innings, allowing no earned runs and only two hits in a win over Siena (3/2)
-Grabbed the win in a five inning start vs. Massachusetts (3/9), with six strikeouts
-Tossed two innings of scoreless ball in a relief appearance against Miami (4/4)
-Pitched 2.2 innings of hitless ball to earn the victory against UAB (4/7)
-Dominated FAMU (4/10) with six strikeouts in three innings of hitless ball in a win
-Allowed only one run on four hits in 3.2 innings of relief work at Southern Mississippi (4/13)
-Flawless in 6.1 innings of work at Tulane (4/20), allowing no runs in his sixth victory of the year
-Allowed no runs and only three hits in six innings of work in the win against Memphis (4/27)
-Masterful in seven-innings against Presbyterian (5/5), striking out eight to win his fourth decision in a row
-Had eight strikeouts in 5.2 innings of work vs. Rice (5/18)
-Dominated East Carolina (5/25), picking up the victory by allowing one run in six innings
-Shutout Missouri State (6/1) for 5.2 innings in the Coral Gables Regional, allowing only three hits and striking out six in the process

-Earned a spot on the C-USA All-Freshman Team
-Won his first-five collegiate starts, and finished the 2011 campaign with a 5-1 record and a 5.05 ERA
-Tossed one complete game in 10 starts, while appearing in 16 games overall
-Struck out 41 in 57.0 innings, and held righties to a .231 average
-Handled Marshall (5/19) with 4.2 shutout innings of relief, striking out four and giving up just two hits
-Fanned one in 1.2 scoreless relief innings vs. Houston (4/29)
-Struck out eight in 6.0 innings but did not get a decision vs. Tulane (4/9)
-Did not get a decision after 5.2 innings with three runs against and two strikeouts vs. No. 20 Southern Miss (4/1)
-Grabbed the win at No. 23 Rice (3/25) in his first Friday start, lasting 5.2 innings with two runs on four hits and eight walks
-Moved to 4-0 after a 6.0-inning win over Columbia (3/19), limiting the Lions to three hits while striking out five
-Became the first UCF freshman since 2006 to toss a complete game, and the first Knight overall since 2008 to record a nine-inning complete game, when he defeated Wagner (3/12) with a four-hitter, allowing just one run and no walks while striking out 10
-Tossed 6.0-shutout innings with three strikeouts and four hits against in an 8-0 victory vs. Dartmouth (3/5, game one)
-Made first start vs. Alabama (2/27), and promptly went 5.0 innings for the win, striking out two and not allowing an earned run
-In his collegiate debut, struck out two in a perfect inning at B-CU (2/22)

Prior to UCF
-Drafted in the 26th round of the 2010 MLB Draft by the Cleveland Indians
-Ranked No. 235 nationally and No. 38 in the state of Florida by Perfect Game in 2010
-Played for coach Randy Renfroe and Gulf Breeze High School, lettering three years on the mound and at third base
-Helped Gulf Breeze to the Class 4A regional each of his last two years
-Tossed over 143 innings during his high school career, posting a 14-4 record with eight saves and a 1.41 ERA
-Struck out 182 and walked just 48 at the varsity level
-Competed in the 2010 Pensacola Sports Association All-Star Game
-Suited up for the Florida Bombers from 2009-10, guiding the team to the World Wood Bat title in Atlanta in 2010
-Tossed a no-hitter in 2008 for the Dynamic Elite travel squad
-Also lettered in football (quarterback, wide receiver) and basketball (forward)
