-Lettered four years in baseball, basketball and football at Meridian High School
-Named to the all-state teams in football (tight end) and baseball (first baseman) as a sophomore
-As a junior, earned all-conference laurels after aiding to the team to a third-place finish at state
-Also named an all-state wide receiver his junior season while helping the basketball team to a runner-up finish in the state
