2008 (Senior): Started nine of 26 games, all as the designated hitter...Went .265 at the plate with eight runs, eight RBI, three doubles and a homer...Walked eight times and struck out just six...Came off the bench to go 2-for-2 with a double and a RBI vs. FAMU (Feb. 22)...Walked three times and scored a run as the DH vs. FAMU (Feb. 24)...Drew a walk as the designated hitter against Monmouth (March 7)...As the DH vs. Pitt (March 11), sent a two-run homer to right in a 2-for-3 affair while also scoring two runs...Doubled and scored a run against Wagner (March 17)...Drove in three runs in a 2-for-3 affair with two runs scored at Southern Miss (March 22)...Added two RBI with a hit and run scored at Southern Miss (March 23)...Hit by a pitch and scored a run vs. ECU (March 30)...Walked as a pinch-hitter at UNF (April 15)...Recorded a double against Clemson (May 17).

2007 (Junior): Primarily used as UCF's main pinch-hitter...Saw action in 35 games with six starts...Connected for eight hits and two RBI...Was the only other player to make a start at first base (one game) besides Kiko Vazquez...Collected a base hit in the ninth that helped UCF score three runs in the inning for an 8-7 win over Marshall (May 18)...Singled in the eighth inning vs. Tulane (April 28), as well as Stetson (May 2)...Drew a walk off the bench at Rice (April 20)...Collected a single in a pinch-hitting situation at USF (April 17)...Came on as a pinch-hitter vs. Southern Miss (April 6), and started the two-out ninth-inning rally with a double to right field...Ripped a base hit as a pinch-hitter against Harvard (March 26)...Walked and scored a run at LSU (Feb. 24)...Started at first base vs. TCU (Feb. 11), going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Prior to UCF: Played at Polk Community College for two seasons...Finished with a .306 batting average in 2006, scoring 30 runs and driving in 28...As a freshman, hit .350 with two homers, 12 doubles and 25 RBI en route to being named a second-team All-Sun Coast Conference selection...Played in the Florida junior college all-star game, and was team captain during the sophomore campaign...Ranked as one of the top catchers in junior college ball by Collegiate Baseball...Received a medical redshirt in 2003-04 with Seminole Community College...Played two seasons for head coach Bob King at Winter Park High School...Helped team reach the regional finals as a senior.

Personal: Born in Winter Park, Fla....Son of Joe and Debbie Russell, who both went to UCF...Father played baseball for the Golden Knights from 1976-80, and ranks seventh in complete games for a career (12) and eighth in ERA (3.24)...Has an older brother, Joey, who played baseball at North Florida and is the head coach at Colonial High School, a younger brother, Nolan, and a younger sister, Nora...Majoring in history.
