Prior to UCF: Four-year letterman at Killian High School for head coaches Pete Hertler and Bo McVay...Was a three-time all-county selection...Tossed a complete-game in the state championship game during junior season in a 2-1 loss to Cypress Bay, striking out five and yielding just five hits...Lost to fellow UCF sophomore Mitch Houck, who fired a no-hitter in the one-run victory...Named Killian's most outstanding rookie following freshman season...Was a member of the National Honor Society in high school and graduated in the top eight percent of the class.
