Baseball Holds First Team Practice of 2014

ORLANDO, Fla. ( - The 2014 baseball season officially kicked off for UCF Friday on a crisp Florida afternoon. The Knights began the day with infield/outfield drills and followed up with a seven-inning scrimmage that featured four pitchers.

Taking the mound for the opening scrimmage was junior Eric Skoglund who put in four scoreless innings of work. The lefty was backed by sophomore Zac Favre who tossed three scoreless innings of relief. On the other side, junior Spencer Davis pitched four innings before giving way to junior transfer Parker Thomas who finished up the final three frames.

The Knights will continue scrimmaging the rest of the month in preparation for Opening Knight v. Siena on Feb. 14. Fans are encouraged to come out to the baseball complex as all practices are open to the public. The schedule for upcoming practices the rest of this month is;

Jan. 25 – 10 a.m.
Jan. 26 – 12 p.m.
Jan. 28-31 – 2:30 p.m.

Season tickets for the 2014 campaign are on sale now and can be purchased HERE. All single-game, mini-plan, and group tickets will go on sale to the public on Feb. 3.
