Tuesday night’s in-state showdown can be heard on the airwaves in Central Florida on AM 740 The Game. Marc Daniels will be on the call with pregame beginning at 6:45 p.m.

The Gators come into the contest with a 2-1 record after taking two-of-three from Maryland last weekend. Dating back to 2011, Florida has a 3-2 edge in the series, but four of the five games have been decided by two runs or less.

On the mound for the Knights (3-0) will be junior RHP Zach Rodgers. The Glendale, Ariz., native will make his first start of the season after pitching two scoreless innings of relief against Siena. He will be opposed by freshman RHP Logan Shore who is making his collegiate debut.

In the series sweep over Siena, junior Tommy Williams and freshman Kam Gellinger started their 2014 campaigns with a bang. Williams notched seven hits and four RBI and was named to the American Athletic Conference weekly honor roll for his efforts. Gellinger reached base safely in all eight of his plate appearances, including a home run in his first career at-bat.

Along with Williams, senior Bret Gordon and juniors Erik Barber, Dylan Moore and Sam Tolleson are all carrying three-game hitting streaks into midweek action. The Knights are hitting .367 overall heading into Tuesday.
