ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Winners of its last two weekend series in Conference USA, the UCF baseball team will look to keep its streak going when it welcomes No. 30 Houston to town for a three-day set beginning Friday night at 6:30 p.m.

In the second-to-last home weekend at the UCF baseball complex, there will be plenty of promotions on tap beginning with Friday night's student appreciation evening. The first 200 with their UCF ID will receive limited edition UCF sunglasses and can also partake in free pizza on the outfield deck. Fans will also have a chance to win two tickets to Busch Gardens.

On Saturday at 4 p.m., the Knights (22-19, 8-7) will welcome many former players back to campus on UCF Baseball Alumni Day, while on Sunday at 1, Coca-Cola employees will receive free admission for up to four people while showing their ID at the ticket window.

Coming into the weekend, Conference USA's regular-season title is up for grabs with the top six teams separated by just four wins. The Knights find themselves two games behind leader Southern Miss, while the Cougars sit at 7-5 in the league standings.

Friday night will see LHP Chris Matulis (4-2, 3.39 ERA) make his sixth start of the year, and third-straight on a Friday, while going head-to-head with Houston's junior RHP Daniel Poncedeleon (5-3, 4.50). In four of his last five starts, Matulis has gone at least seven innings, including eight frames three times.

Junior RHP Ben Lively (6-3, 1.09 ERA) will once again go toe-to-toe with another top arm in C-USA, Cougars' senior RHP Austin Pruitt (7-3, 2.24 ERA). Lively notched his 20th-career win last Saturday and needs just three strikeouts to become the ninth pitcher all-time at UCF to reach 200.

The crucial C-USA showdown can be heard all across the airwaves in Central Florida on 740-AM The Game with Marc Daniels on the call. Pregame starts 15 minutes prior to first pitch.
