ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's basketball team will open its final campaign in Conference USA Wednesday by hosting UAB. The game is the first of eight home league contests for the Knights and tipoff is 7 p.m. at the UCF Arena.

The Knights (10-4) have enjoyed success this season thanks to their strong shooting. The team is among the national leaders in field goal (49.7) and 3-point field goal (39.2) percentage. On Saturday, UCF made 14 3-pointers as it crushed Florida A&M, 99-69. Keith Clanton leads the squad in points (16.9) and rebounds per game, while Isaiah Sykes is averaging 15.4 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.9 assists.

UCF has faced a tough schedule, including a contest at No. 7 Florida, a pair of games against cross-state rival USF and a game against Miami, and head coach Donnie Jones believes that the slate has helped prepare his team for conference play.

"I think our non-conference schedule has been very competitive," he said. "We've probably had the toughest non-conference schedule in the history of this school. We have had some great opponents to help us prepare for a very competitive conference."

The UCF Arena box office will be open prior to the game Wednesday. UCF students are admitted free with a valid school ID and the first 2,500 students will receive a free Knightmare t-shirt.

The C-USA Ticket Package offers tickets to all eight home league games starting at the discounted price of just $64. To order, call (407) UCF-1000 or click here.

UCF entered last year 0-7 all-time against the Blazers, but won all three series matchups in 2011-12. Under new head coach Jerod Haase, UAB is 8-7. The Blazers have faced a challenging schedule with contests at Creighton, North Carolina, Middle Tennessee, Rutgers and Dayton.

Next fall, UCF will begin its first campaign in the BIG EAST. A year ago, the Knights went 10-6 in league play to finish third in C-USA.

The game will air on the UCF IMG Sports Network and its flagship station, 740 The Game in Orlando. Marc Daniels and Taylor Young will call all of the action, with pregame coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m. Live video and statistics will be available at UCFAthletics.com.
