ORLANDO, Fla. ( -- For the third time in a span of four games, the UCF men's basketball team will play a road game on Thursday night. The Knights (9-7, 1-4 American Athletic Conference) face nationally-ranked Cincinnati (17-2, 6-0) at Fifth Third Arena in a 9 p.m. tipoff.

Thursday night's game will be televised on CBS Sports Network and will be broadcast locally on the UCF IMG Sports Network and flagship radio station 740 (AM) The Game.

This is just the second meeting ever between the Knights and Bearcats and the first in more than 30 years. The only other UCF-Cincinnati meeting on the hardwood came during the 1983 season, as part of the Red Lobster Classic at the Orange County Civic Center in Orlando. The Bearcats won that matchup 62-48.

The Knights are coming off a 58-46 loss to SMU this past Saturday at CFE Arena. UCF made big strides defensively in that contest, holding SMU almost 15 points below its season scoring average. But the Knights struggled to score against one of the top defensive teams in the American Athletic Conference. Meanwhile, the Bearcats defeated USF 61-54 in their most recent outing. Cincinnati's only losses this season were on the road at New Mexico and to cross-town rival Xavier and both came in December.

The Knights are back home again on Jan. 29 for a matchup with nationally-ranked Memphis. Each of UCF's next three opponents are currently ranked in the Top 25. Five of the Knights' next six contests will be against current Top 25 squads.
