ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - UCF Men's Basketball Head Coach Donnie Jones announced on Wednesday that Marshall Holmes of Berkeley Prep in Tampa will join the Knights as a freshman for the 2014-15 season.

The 6-foot-3 guard helped lead Berkeley Prep to a regional title and a trip to the Class 4A Florida State Semifinals as a senior in 2013-14.  The Buccaneers finished the campaign 27-4.  Holmes led Berkeley with 22 points and 10 rebounds in the regional final win over the Community School of Naples.

"He's a very good player," Jones said of Holmes. "He comes from a well-respected program with Coach Bobby Reinhart, who has had great success [at Berkeley]. Marshall has grown up in a great basketball atmosphere, and he'll bring that into college with us here.

"He has a bright future and he will be someone who can help our team in a lot of different ways," Jones went on to say. "Not only on the floor, but off the floor as well. Marshall has leadership abilities and he's a good student."

Holmes will join Orlando's B.J. Taylor and Adonys Henriquez as members of the incoming freshman class for the Knights in 2014-15.  The trio of Floridians will bring plenty of talent to the UCF roster as the Knights begin their second season of play in the American Athletic Conference.
