ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - There was plenty of excitement last week when UCF's 2013-14 schedule was announced. Much of the attention focused on the Knights' first game in the American Athletic Conference, which will come at CFE Arena on New Year's Eve on ESPN2.

Here is a closer look at the schedule:

Historic Programs
• The Knights will host and face on two occasions two of the last three national champions (Louisville, UConn)
• UCF will host and face programs that have won eight national titles
• The Knights' 2013-14 foes have made a combined 30 trips to the Final Four
• Ten programs that have played in the Final Four will visit CFE Arena

Top Teams
• The Knights will play 12 games against 2013 NCAA Tournament teams
• Fifteen of the team's foes won at least 20 games a year ago
• Seven of UCF's opponents won more than 25 contests in 2013-14
• On four occasions, the Knights will face a team that won at least 30 games last season

TV Exposure
• UCF will have at least 20 nationally televised games during the season
• All 18 of the team's American Athletic Conference contests will be televised nationally
• Home games against Louisville and UConn will both air on ESPN2
• TV breakdown: 9 ESPNews, 7 ESPNU, 2 ESPN2, 2 CBS Sports Network

In-State Opportunities
• In addition to its 17 home games, UCF will also play three other contests in Florida: at Miami, at Florida Atlantic and at USF
• The Knights will play in-state opponents nine times, including Florida State at home
• The Seminoles will be making their debut on the UCF campus
