ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - Former UCF star Jermaine Taylor is taking a big step in his return to the NBA as the shooting guard opens training camp with the Cleveland Cavaliers today. Taylor played with the Cavs during the NBA Las Vegas Summer League in July and earned an invitation to their training camp.

An All-America selection for the Knights in 2008-09, Taylor appeared in 65 NBA games with Houston and Sacramento from 2009-11. He averaged 12.8 points with Cleveland this summer.

Taylor concluded last season with Maine in the NBA D-League and he averaged 24.0 points on 51.6 percent shooting. He finished the campaign second in the league in scoring and totaled a league-high 49 points in a win over Springfield that helped put Maine into the playoffs.
