For the second straight year was named to the All C-USA Academic Team and Arthur Ashe Diverse Magazine Academic First Team ... Also named to the 2008 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society ... Became first Knight since Peter Sands in 2003 to collect more than 100 tackles in a season, finishing the campaign with 103 takedowns ... Tallied nine tackles, five solo and four assisted, in a victory at NC State (Sept. 1) ... Racked up eight tackles and a pass break-up vs. Texas (Sept. 15) ... Accumulated five tackles in a victory over Memphis (Sept. 22) ... Had five solo tackles against Louisiana (Sept. 29), and also recorded a pass break-up ... Registered nine tackles for the Knights at East Carolina (Oct. 6) ... Notched a game-high and career-high 12 tackles at USF (Oct. 13), including 10 solo stops ... Broke his hand on the first defensive play of the game vs. the Nittany Lions, but managed to stay in for the entire game ... Did not play the rest of the season and was granted a medical redshirt.
HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year letterwinner at Episcopal High School in Jacksonville ... Coached by Adam Cheyunski ... Outstanding all-around athlete who also lettered twice in baseball and track ... Totaled 58 solo tackles, 26 assists and eight interceptions over his junior and senior years ... Scored three defensive touchdowns in his career ... Totaled 56 receptions for 788 yards and seven touchdowns his final two years of prep football ... Named team's defensive MVP as a junior ... 2002-03 Gridiron Award winner ... 2003 Chysman Award honoree, given to the top EHS athlete performing to high standards both on and off the field ...
