Tonight's game marked the first night contest for UCF at Bright House Networks Stadium.
The Knights improved to 4-0 all-time against the Ragin' Cajuns.
UCF is 3-1 for the first time since the 1998 season.
The Knights' three victories in September are the most for the program in the month since 1998.
The Knights scored on their opening possession of the game for the third time this season when Robert Batista connected on a 41-yard field goal. The field goal was the first of Batista's career.
Junior RB Kevin Smith carried the ball 33 times for a career-high 223 yards. He totaled three touchdowns.
Smith had a 56-yard touchdown in the first quarter - it was the fourth-straight game Smith has scored a rushing touchdown in the opening quarter. Smith had 11 carries for 94 yards in the first quarter.
Smith had three runs of 20 yards or longer in the game, giving him eight such carries this season.
Smith's multiple-touchdown game was his fourth straight of the season and moved him to third on the UCF career charts for rushing touchdowns with 27. The three-touchdown game was his second of the season and fourth of his career.
With his fourth-consecutive 100-yard rushing effort to begin the season, Smith moved into a tie for third on the UCF career charts in that category with 13.
UCF finished with 300 yards on the ground. It marked the second-straight game that the Knights ran for at least 300 yards.
Junior Rocky Ross hauled in a season-high six catches for 83 yards in the game. His total was also the most catches by a Knight receiver in a game this season.
Redshirt freshman Parker Langley saw his first action at punter in his UCF career. Langley, who is also the holder on field goals and extra points, punted four times for 153 yards.
Junior safety August Ashley scored the first touchdown of his career, blocking a punt late in the second quarter and returning it 19 yards for the touchdown. The last punt block returned for a touchdown by the Knights was in 2006 when Blake Carter had a 31-yard touchdown return vs. USF (Sept. 16).
Senior Curtis Francis moved to fifth-place on the UCF career kick return yardage list with his 28-yard effort in the third quarter. Francis now has 1,087 yards on 55 returns.
Sophomore Corey Rabazinski scored his first-career touchdown on a one-yard reception from Kyle Israel in the third quarter. Rabazinski's reception was also his first catch of the season.
