UCF HEAD COACH George O'Leary
On the victory and the play of Southern Miss:
I said earlier in the week, you can throw the records out. Give Southern Miss credit. I thought they came in here and fought. I don't think we played as well as we would have liked in any phase of the game - offense, defense or special teams. But that was caused by Southern Miss. Basically, they matched us punch for punch. Thankfully we played hard in that overtime period as far as pass and run; and defensively with the pick. (It was) a good college football game and we have had so many close encounters with Southern Miss, it is a great win. It is another conference win and a step closer to what we want to get accomplished.
SOUTHERN MISS HEAD COACH ELLIS JOHNSON
On his team's performance:
"You know, you take a lot of optimism from the way we played, and I think we handled it the right way. Still got six ball games, got some teams that we can hopefully play with. Just a tough way to lose, and not come up with it. When you see them put up like that you got something to hang onto. There were some things that we did well. We obviously can't stop the run and got to be a little more consistent throwing the ball down the field. We have improved in a lot of areas, including those. We just got to keep pounding away."
