UCF Head Coach George O'Leary on going 0-11:
"If I thought that it would happen, I probably would have had second thoughts about what I was doing. We are going to be a good football team, but when you play so many first-year players, you are going to have some mistakes."
On the outcome vs. Kent State:
"I thought that we made entirely too many mistakes tonight and too many big plays on defense where we should be more responsible in coverage and you can't give up big plays especially with that quarterback who has made big, big plays against a lot of people."
On UCF's offense:
"I think that we are just very limited on offense as far as what we can do. We can't protect mainly because of the youth there and also because of some situations with the depth. I would have expected a better performance than what I saw in the second half from a lot of people on offense and defense."
Kent State Head Coach Doug Martin on Josh Cribbs and Darrell Dowery:
"Josh and Darrell have played together since high school and probably won't again. I don't know what the stats ended up but I know that they connected a lot tonight. The last four games, Josh played like I always envisioned him playing and I said many times that I wish I had the opportunity to coach him for four years because he could have shown how good he could have been. Missing spring practice really set him back but at the end of the year he was unbelievable, he was what I always thought he could be."
On winning four consecutive games to end the season:
"Winning four in a row for the first time since 1976 was huge. For this senior class, I give them all of the credit in the world because of their leadership. When we were one and six and looked bad, they did not shatter. They forged into steel and have been the backbone of this football team and football program.
