Head Coach George O'Leary

Opening Statement about game:
"I think we have a knack for keeping it interesting as far as the game. I think the kids' character was tested when you jump out in a big lead like that and you let them chip away with field goals. Offensively, I thought we strung together some drives together and got some points on the board. Defensively, we have to do some studying in the offseason on things with coverage. We gave up too many big plays in key situations. It was a good win and I am happy for the kids. I said to them, they played hard for the last minute. Normally, a lot of teams have a tendency to pack it. This team has not and that is a credit to the team and the character of the team and that is usually led by your senior class. I am happy for the kids. Hopefully, we can head into the offseason with a good taste in our mouths. "

On Senior Tailback Jason Peters:
"Jason has always been a sound running back. He was running his feet really well today. He got a lot of hitting yards after the first half which is great. I am happy for Jason and his two years in the program and I am happy to see him have a chance to shine today. He did a good job."

On Senior Wide Receiver Mike Walker:
"Mike Walker set a record today, but what can you say about him. He has been such a good player for this program and has made a lot of big plays in key situations. He will be solely missed."

On Junior Quarterback Kyle Israel:
"He was throwing well today. I got Steven [Moffett] in the game and I wanted to do that. I think Kyle demonstrated the right things and ran for some yards too. He has to learn to slide and get his pads down because he can get in trouble there. I was happy. He makes all the different throws. I think he is growing up some and I am happy for him. The offensive line did a good job too of keeping guys out."

On his career at UCF
"It is kind of emotional. I have been here for four years and there have been a lot of ups and downs. There have been many memories. I have these great teammates and all these coaches and trainers. Everyone has been so great. I went down on an injury and have never been so loved in my life. Everybody just came together towards me. I wish I could start a tradition in the new stadium, but I have done my four years here and my time is up."

On his success:
"I feel comfortable out there. It feels slowed down. A lot of people do not realize, but George Godsey was a quarterback at Georgia Tech. He was a 3,000-yard thrower and he knows what it takes to be productive. He sees things out there other coaches do not see because he has been on that field and he has been in that situation."
