PHOENIX, Ariz. - Since the beginning of the season, the No. 15 UCF Knights knew if they won the American Athletic Conference they would play in a BCS bowl game. On New Year’s Day the Knights didn’t just get to play in a BCS bowl game, they came away with a historic victory in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl against a high-powered Baylor Bears offense.

That was the first-ever BCS bowl victory in program history and UCF’s third bowl victory in four years. For many of the players, it was hard for them to put their emotions into words. Many of them said this game was the greatest victory they ever experienced.

“I’m just so glad we were able to come out with a win,” said senior offensive lineman and team captain Justin McCray. “It’s crazy. I’m just so glad to be a Knight.”

“I have no words [to describe this]. I’m just excited and it’s a great win,” said junior linebacker Troy Gray. “A BCS win, 12-1 - I never would have thought.”
