ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - UCF received a lot of help from the freshman class during the championship 2013 season, and one Knight received a prestigious honor as cornerback Jacoby Glenn was named to the Football Writers Association of America Freshman All-America Team on Monday.

Glenn becomes the first Knight since cornerback Josh Robinson in 2009 to be named to the FWAA Freshman All-America Team. Robinson would later be selected in the third round of the NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings in 2012.

UCF faced several high-powered offenses in 2013, including Baylor and Houston, both of which fell victim to the Knights who capped off the campaign with a 12-1 record, the American Athletic Conference title and a victory in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. Helping in the process was Glenn, who finished with 52 tackles in his redshirt freshman season.

A native of Prichard, Ala., Glenn tied for second in UCF single-season history with 15 break-ups, highlighted by matching the school record with five break-ups against Rutgers Nov. 21. He also hauled in two interceptions, forced two fumbles and registered a pair of sacks.
