ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF finally had the opportunity to get the pads on during the third practice of spring camp Saturday, and it was pretty clear the Knights were anxious to get a little more physical to conclude their first week back on the gridiron.
"Some of the younger kids I think are doing some good things. I've been pleased there," head coach George O'Leary said. "Keeping up with the installation is the critical thing, and right now obviously things we've got to get better at are running your feet, running through blocks, tackles and all of that type of stuff. There are too many guys grounding their feet. But that's all stuff you can work on and improve on."
The Knights did spend some time with the kicking game during the session, which featured Brandon Alexander demonstrating his speed en route to blocking two field goals.
UCF will resume spring camp with its second week of drills starting Tuesday at 10 a.m. The 2013 Spring Game is on the calendar for Saturday, April 13, at 2 p.m. at Bright House Networks Stadium.
