ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - Spring camp may be complete and UCF has been working tirelessly on preparing for the 2014 season, but there was one more thing left to do for the Knights to celebrate the memorable 2013 campaign: receive their rings.
On Monday morning, the Black and Gold began picking up their bling. Working with Balfour to produce the rings, 2013 senior captains Jeff Godfrey, Jordan McCray and Justin McCray helped with the design. The front features the UCF logo with "American" and "Champions" surrounding the logo.
One side of the ring carries the respective ring-bearer's last name, "2013" and the American Athletic Conference trophy with UCF's 12-1 record at the bottom. The other side boasts "2014 Champions," the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl logo and "Rank 10" to signify the Knights' final ranking in the Associated Press poll.
Inside each ring is the word "Undisputed," a term the captains desired as the Knights won the league outright.
UCF is no stranger to receiving rings and hardware lately. The Knights have won three conference titles since 2007, appeared in six bowl games since 2005 and have claimed victories in each of their last three bowl contests. Overall, UCF has posted at least 10 wins in three of the last four seasons.
