ORLANDO - UCF Director of Athletics Steve Orsini has signed a letter of agreement for a three-game football series with the national champion Texas Longhorns. The first game will be in Orlando on Sept. 15, 2007 - the first scheduled contest in UCF's new on-campus stadium.

The other two games are scheduled for Sept. 19, 2009 and Sept. 24, 2011 in Austin, Texas.

"It is a terrific opportunity to play a great football team in the opening of our new football stadium on-campus," said UCF head football coach George O'Leary.

UCF and Texas have never met on the gridiron. The Golden Knights have played just one Big XII team in school history - losing 38-24 at No. 6 Nebraska in 1997.

Construction of the $51 million, 45,000-seat stadium is scheduled to begin shortly and be completed in time for the Texas game. The stadium will be located just east of the Anthony and Sonja Nicholson Fieldhouse and the Wayne Densch Sports Center.

UCF has played at the Florida Citrus Bowl stadium near downtown Orlando since the football team's inaugural season in 1979.

Ticket orders are now being accepted for the 2006 football season. Season ticket holders will be given priority when seats are sold in the new stadium. Fans can place their ticket order by calling 407-UCF-1000.
