ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The Knights are on their way to Dublin. After nearly a month of preseason camp, the squad has boarded a flight to Ireland for the Croke Park Classic, which is slated for Saturday at 8:30 a.m. EST/1:30 p.m. IST.
As the Knights boarded buses to head to Sanford International Airport at the Wayne Densch Sports Center, the team was greeted by a bagpipe band from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard.
Despite all the pomp and circumstance and a trip overseas, which is a first for many involved with the team, the Knights know it’s all about facing Penn State and preparing to come away with a victory.
"It's a great experience for the program, for the players,” junior center Joey Grant said before boarding the bus. “We're just excited to go over there and at the end of the day it is a business trip and we're there to win a game."
The Knights will fly over night Tuesday, before landing in Dublin at around 8:30 a.m. IST. UCF will take a couple hours to get acclimated to Carton House, then head out to the practice facility right on the property to take part in their first overseas practice session.
