ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - There will be a lot on the line Saturday when UCF travels to Penn State as both teams have opened 2013 with identical 2-0 records. Dan Rooney, the Pittsburgh Steelers' team chairman and former U.S. Ambassador to Ireland, is scheduled to attend Saturday's contest, as will Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) Director General Páraic Duffy and Croke Park and GAA Commercial Director Peter McKenna. Rooney and Duffy will participate in the coin toss prior to this year's game.
The winning team in the Croke Park Classic will earn the Dan Rooney Trophy, which will be on display before Saturday's game. The Dan Rooney Trophy is a replica football made of bog yew and Pittsburgh steel. The yew comes from what remains of forests that grew 4,200 years ago and lie deep in the Irish midlands. The steel is left from the construction of Heinz Field, the home of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
For UCF fans who are unable to make the trip to Pennsylvania this weekend, the game will air on Big Ten Network as well as 740-AM The Game in Orlando.
