ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Conference USA and FOX Sports Networks announced Sunday evening the kickoff time for one of the most anticipated home games in UCF football history. The Knights will host Missouri Sept. 29 at noon at Bright House Networks Stadium, marking the first home contest vs. a school from the SEC.
The matchup against the Tigers will be Military Appreciation Day as local veterans along with active duty and their families are welcome to experience in-game and on-field recognition. It also will be Social Media Day, and fans are encouraged to like the UCF Athletics Facebook page for an opportunity to win tickets to the Missouri game, and help spread the word about the game by using the #BeatMizzou hashtag on Twitter.
UCF has opened the 2012 season with a 2-1 record following a 33-20 victory over FIU in the home opener Sept. 15. The Knights also have posted a 56-14 road win at Akron and a 31-16 loss at then-No. 14 Ohio State. The Knights have their bye week up next, and the contest with Missouri will be the final non-conference game of the regular season.
In its first campaign in the SEC, Missouri has experienced a similar beginning to 2012, thumping Southeastern Louisiana, 62-10, only to fall to then-No. 7 Georgia, 41-20. The Tigers then topped Arizona State, 24-20, to boost their record to 2-1, and will travel to No. 7/8 South Carolina Sept. 22 prior to their trip to Orlando.
