ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - Enjoying its third bye week of the season, UCF remained steady in the AP Top 25 at No. 19 while it climbed one spot in the USA Today Coaches Poll to No. 21.
The Knights have been receiving votes in at least one poll every week this year.
The No. 19 ranking already stands as a program-high for the Black and Gold. Meanwhile, the No. 21 showing in the Coaches Poll is one spot short of matching the highest ranking all-time in that poll for the Knights (No. 20 in the final 2010 Coaches Poll).
In the AP Top 25, UCF received 472 points, up from 464 the previous week. Over in the Coaches Poll, the Knights jumped from 300 to 340 points, which are the most points by a UCF squad in the Coaches Poll.
On Sunday evening, UCF climbed from No. 23 to No. 21 in the BCS standings, which is the highest ranking for the Knights in the history of the BCS.
UCF is currently preparing for one of the biggest home games in school history as it will entertain Houston Saturday at 7 p.m. at Bright House Networks Stadium. The Cougars are No. 28 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and No. 30 in the AP Top 25.
The Knights stand 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the American Athletic Conference while the Cougars also are in first place with a 7-1 mark on the season and 4-0 record in league play.
