ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The last unbeaten team remaining in American Athletic Conference play, UCF (7-1, 4-0) continued its march up the national rankings, jumping to No. 15 in the Associated Press Top 25 and No. 19 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

The No. 15/19 Knights held off a talented Houston program in the final seconds in a 19-14 win in front of a raucous home crowd at Bright House Networks Stadium as both teams entered in a tie for first place in the standings.

Last week, UCF was No. 19 in the AP Top 25, which stood as its highest ranking in program history. This week marks the first time the Knights have entered the top 15 since the program's inception in 1979 and first year as an FBS member in 1996.

The No. 19 showing in the Coaches Poll is an all-time high for the Knights.

UCF also claimed its highest ranking in the history of the BCS, moving up to No. 17.

The Black and Gold will now look ahead to its second trip of the season to Pennsylvania where it will face off with Temple Saturday at noon. Its next home game will be a Thursday-night clash with Rutgers on ESPN Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m.
