Even More Castles

8/22/2014 Dublin Castle is one of the most historic and well-known buildings in all of Ireland. The structure is more than 800 years old and construction of the castle was fully completed in 1230. A plan to build Dublin Castle was put into place in 1169 after the Norman invasion of Ireland. King John of England ordered that a castle needed to be built to protect the city, administer justice and defend the king's treasure.
