HUTCHINSON, Kan. (UCFKnights.com) – Ricardo Gouveia wrapped up his UCF career with a flourish Monday evening at Prairie Dunes Golf Club.
Taking part in the NCAA Championship, Gouveia was 2-under in Monday’s third and final round of individual play. He recorded birdies on four of his last seven holes as a Knight, pushing him into a tie for 35th place.
Gouveia was 2-under in the first round and 5-over in the second round, accounting for his final score of 211 (+1). A pair of golfers – Georgia Tech’s Ollie Schneiderjans and Stanford’s Cameron Wilson – were each 6-under and took part in a playoff to determine the individual champion. The NCAA team title will be decided in a match-play format over the next three days.
While his UCF career has come to a close, Gouveia is slated to take part in the Palmer Cup, a Ryder Cup-style event featuring many of the best collegiate players in the country. Gouveia will play for Team Europe in the Palmer Cup, which is slated to begin June 26 at the Walton Heath Golf Club in Surrey, England.
