SUGAR GROVE, Ill. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men’s golf team moved up one spot on the team leaderboard in Saturday’s second round at the Northern Intercollegiate at Rich Harvest Farms.
The Knights followed Friday’s total score of 290 with a 293 on Saturday. UCF is now +7 for the tournament and 11 strokes off the lead. Houston leads the tournament and is the only team under par at -4. Liberty and Virginia are six and three shots in front of UCF, respectively.
Ricardo Gouveia continues to be the top player for UCF. He is currently tied for fourth at -2 for the tournament. He carded a +2 round of 74 on Saturday. The biggest move of the day for the Knights was made by Greg Eason, who climbed from a tie for 47th after the first round all the way to a tie for 13th after the second day of action. Eason shot a 68 (-4) in the second round and currently stands +1 for the tournament.
Linus Vaisanen is +4 for the tournament after firing a 3-over 75 on Saturday and is tied for 24th. Freshman Ryan Stovash is tied for 30th at +6 for the tournament. Playing as an individual, UCF’s Federico Zuchetti is currently in a tie for 34th at +7. Kyle Wilshire rounded out the Knights’ lineup Saturday. He is currently tied for 40th at +8.
