ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Some of the best collegiate golfers in the country will be playing in the central Florida region when the 2009 Conference USA Men's Golf Championship begins Sunday at the RedTail Golf Club in Sorrento. UCF and the Central Florida Sports Commission are hosting the three-day, three-round event in Lake County.

In addition to the 19th-ranked Knights, the tournament will feature four of the top-100 programs in the country according to Golfweek - Tulsa (59), UAB (74), SMU (81) and East Carolina (91).

In 2008, UAB claimed the tournament title with a victory in Texarkana, Ark. The winner of the C-USA Championship receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals in May.

Play will begin at 8:30 a.m. each day. Admission to the tournament is free. For directions to the RedTail Golf Club, visit RedTailClub.com
