ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – After four tournament victories this season and numerous individual accomplishments, the UCF men’s golf team completed what head coach Bryce Wallor called the Knights’ most successful regular season in school history.
UCF ended the season with a seventh place finish in a very tough San Antonio Regional. Individually, senior Ricardo Gouveia was the Knights’ lone representative at NCAA Nationals and finished tied for 35th.
The team finished the season ranked 6th in the nation, which is the Knights’ highest final ranking in school history. UCF also set a school record for team scoring with an average of .61 under par per round.
“I’m proud of the effort [from the team]. It was a great run from the first day we started the regular season till the last day we ended it,” said Wallor. “We started it with a win. We finished it with a win. So many great memories and some great people that were involved with our program for a long time and those seniors are going to be missed.”
The Knights will graduate three seniors from this past season’s team, which includes American Athletic Conference Player of the Year Greg Eason, Ricardo Gouveia and Kyle Wilshire.
