Hailing from Cape Coral, Fla., sophomore Connor Arendell is no stranger to the heat of the Florida golf course.

A transfer from Louisville, Arendell chose UCF because he wanted to be closer to his family and knew what a great golf program UCF has. Since he has transferred to UCF his teammates have made him feel right at home, literally. His roommates at UCF are all members of the men's golf team.

Arendell competed in all four events with the Knights this fall and tied for 31 at the Prestige at PGA WEST.

He has his sights set high for the team this season and hopes that the Knights will be just as successful as they were before his arrival.

"I think we have a really good team and we can go really far, all the way to nationals like we did last year. We have just as good a shot as anyone else," said Arendell.

Arendell and the Knights will continue the season at the Gator Invitational this February in Gainesville, Fla.
