BERKELEY, Calif. (UCFAthletics.com) - Playing in the Golden State for the first time in program history, the UCF men's soccer team fell 4-1 to host California Friday. The Golden Bears scored three goals in the final 25 minutes of the contest.

The match was the first of two this weekend in California for the Knights. UCF will face host UC Davis Sunday at 7 p.m. Eastern.

The Knights (1-2) evened the score at 1-1 in the 60th minute Friday at Goldman Field at Edwards Stadium on an unassisted McKauly Tulloch goal. The score was the first of the season for the forward, who earned College Soccer News Preseason All-America Third Team honors last month. He recorded 15 goals in 2011.

Cal (2-2) answered five minutes later with the first of three second-half goals when Alec Sundley scored. The hosts added tallies in the 69th and 82nd minutes.

"Cal is a very dangerous team. We knew coming in that they were coming off two losses last weekend on the road to two very good teams (Maryland, Virginia)," UCF head coach Bryan Cunningham said. "They scored the early goal, but we battled back. But I was disappointed with the mental breakdowns in the second half. It is so tough to play when you are down a few goals on the road. We'll dust ourselves off and get ready for Sunday. UC Davis is another good team and it will be a test for us."
