NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Junior Jon Imran recorded his first career hat trick as the UCF men's soccer team earned its fifth consecutive victory with a 5-0 win over Lipscomb in Atlantic Sun Conference action on Thursday night.
Imran got the Golden Knights (6-3-2, 5-0 A-Sun) on the board at 19:07 with an unassisted tally then knocked in his second goal of the contest at nearly seven minutes later on an assist from classmate Billy Judino.
Judino and redshirt freshman Adham Rashwan would add an assist on sophomore tri-captain Alejandro Gessen's second goal of the season at 27:03 as UCF took a 3-0 lead into intermission. Freshman
Imran completed the hat trick at 60:57, connecting off the first collegiate assist from freshman Gissur Jonasson. Rashwan closed out the Knights' offense with his own goal with 12 seconds remaining on the clock.
UCF outshot the host Bisons (0-14, 0-6 A-Sun) by a 17-7 margin and 10 of those 17 were on target. Lipscomb's J.D. Murphy made five saves in the loss. Golden Knight junior goalkeeper and tri-captain Ryan McIntosh stopped two shots en route to his 15th career shutout, an effort that ties him for third all-time at UCF.
The Golden Knights will try to extend their winning streak to six matches when they face Belmont at 1 p.m. on Oct. 23. They return home on Oct. 29 to host Mercer at 7 p.m.
