ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF men's soccer team concludes its spring competition schedule on Saturday at Jacksonville with the kick set for 3 p.m.

The Knights are set to face former associate head coach Mauricio Ruiz, who was selected to guide the Dolphins in mid-February. UCF posted a 1-0 victory over Georgia Southern on March 15 at the UCF Soccer Complex in the squads only other match against a Division I opponent this spring.

UCF fell to Barry 2-1 in its last spring contest on March 29 in Miami, Fla.

"We started out well and were up a goal," head coach Bryan Cunningham said. "There were a number of chances to put the game out of reach, but credit Barry for battling and getting an equalizer.

"Early in the second half, one of our players was shown a red card, so we played a man down and conceded a goal. There were a lot of opportunities for us to square the game. Our players learned a lot about themselves in the final 25 minutes or so. That is a position that we do not want to be in but was a great learning experience for our team."

Freshman defender Javier Clavijo recaps the Knights spring so far in the video above and discusses the team's ability to rebound heading into the match at Jacksonville.

UCF finishes up its spring with an alumni match set for April 12 at 9:30 a.m. on the practice field adjacent to the UCF Soccer Complex.
