ORLANDO, Fla. ( - The UCF men's soccer team kicked off the preseason on Monday morning at 7:30 a.m. with a conditioning test before hitting the practice field for the first time at 9:45 a.m.

The 90-minute session on the soccer practice field adjacent to Bright House Networks Stadium began with individual drills. The squad spent a majority of practice working passing and communication in an effort to start building team chemistry.

"It is a great feeling to get preseason practice stared," said Ayala. "Everyone on the team is ready to begin preparing for that first game."

Ayala spent a portion of his summer in St. Vincent and the Grenadines with Knights Without Borders. The Houston, Texas, native also looked back on the impact that the trip made.

UCF hosts a pair of exhibition games at the UCF Soccer Complex with the first set for 5 p.m. on Aug. 17 against Jacksonville. Among the top returners for UCF is junior, who was recently named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List after being selected as the 2013 American Offensive Player of the Year.
