ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - A busy week for UCF will conclude Saturday. The Knights will play the third of three scrimmages in three days when they host Georgia Southern at 7 p.m.
Admission is free at the UCF Soccer Complex.
On Wednesday, UCF faced visiting Jacksonville. The team opened its preseason schedule Sunday at home against College of Charleston. Statistics have not been kept for the exhibitions, but the Knights logged three goals against Jacksonville while not allowing a score.
Head coach Bryan Cunningham was pleased with his squad's performance in both scrimmages and said that the goal is the same for the Knights against Georgia Southern: to get better.
"I just want these guys to continue to get better and improve each day," Cunningham said. "I like the way that this group has come together and that needs to continue as we end the preseason."
UCF is working a large group of newcomers into is lineup. The new faces include 11 freshmen.
The Knights will open the regular season on Aug. 30, hosting Florida Atlantic at 8 p.m. The match against the Owls is one of nine at home for UCF in 2013. The squad will make its American Athletic Conference debut on Sept. 21, hosting No. 19 Louisville.
