ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - After making its American Athletic Conference debut Saturday, UCF will return to the non-league portion of its schedule Tuesday when it faces host Charlotte at 7 p.m. The contest is the first of three-straight matches on the road for the Knights.
UCF enters the match at Transamerica Field 2-3-2 overall. Charlotte is 3-2-1 this year.
On Saturday, the Knights became the first UCF program to compete in an American Athletic Conference contest when they fell 3-0 to No. 11 Louisville at the UCF Soccer Complex. The Cardinals took advantage of UCF miscues on all three of their scores, while the Knights could not finish their numerous scoring opportunities.
After facing the 49ers, UCF will play at Cincinnati (Saturday) and UConn (Oct. 5) for conference matches.
UCF will not play at home again until Oct. 9 when it hosts league foe Memphis.
Charlotte is in the midst of a four-game homestand. On Saturday, the 49ers eased to a 3-0 victory over Campbell.
Following the matchup with Charlotte, UCF will have one non-conference game left on its schedule. The squad will host Georgia State on Oct. 15.
