ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The 2010 season continues to be one of the more memorable in program history for the UCF men's soccer team. In the eighth Division I poll of the season, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has ranked the Knights second in the South Region behind national power North Carolina. UCF's placement in the regional rankings has it above perennial soccer programs Duke and South Carolina.
The ranking in the highest in program history for the Knights. Last week, UCF was fifth in the poll for the second week in a row after a sixth-place ranking early in October. Currently, the Black and Gold are No. 23 in the nation according to Soccer America, while moving up two spots to No. 14 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com rankings.
The Knights will put their 9-2-2 overall record on the line tonight when they play host to Stetson at the UCF Soccer Complex at 7 p.m. Stetson is receiving votes in the NSCAA South Region and sits just outside the top 10. The first 50 fans in attendance will receive a UCF soccer t-shirt.
