ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – After an impressive sophomore campaign, UCF men’s soccer player Romario Williams earned NSCAA All-Northeast Region First Team honors. The Knights’ forward recorded 10 goals in 2013.
“Obviously we are very excited for Romario,” head coach Bryan Cunningham said. “It’s good for him to get recognized after the tremendous season he had, and it’s a great credit to all of his hard work. I think it speaks to our team as a whole, too. By having a great season, collectively, they helped position Romario to earn that recognition.”
The American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year and All-Conference First Team selection, Williams started each of the Knights’ 18 games in his second season. He notched six game-winning goals along with two assists for 22 points.
The Portmore, Jamaica native ranked second in The American in goals (10), while finishing third in the league in goals per game (.556), points (22) and points per game at 1.22. Williams had 51 shots on the season, with 26 coming on goal.
UCF has had nine all-region selections in the last four years.
