UCF Tennis Teams Open C-USA Championships Thursday

Both the men's and women's programs take on East Carolina.

SPRING 2013
• Named to the C-USA All-Academic Team
• Registered an 11-9 record, all at the No. 1 singles position
• Defeated two nationally ranked opponents
• Dominated Will Kwok of (2/3) Rollins' 6-1, 6-2 for his first singles victory of the year at the No. 1 position
• Along with Matthew Gladstone, defeated (2/3) Rollins' Di Felice and Maxwell 8-7
• Eased his way to a 6-3, 6-2 victory over FAU's (2/8) Will Neuner
• Teamed with Gladstone to earn an 8-5 win against FAU's (2/8) Bacha and Meade
• Paired with Gladstone to beat No. 75 Louisiana-Lafayette (2/12) twins' Hunter and Yates Johnson 8-5
• At the No. 1 spot, eased his way to a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Louisiana-Lafayette's (2/12) Rick de Groot
• Opposite Gladstone, edged Connecticut's (2/17) Hosang and Cohen 8-5
• Secured the shutout over UConn (2/17) after defeating Wayne Harrell 6-3, 4-6, 10-6
• Rallied back to clinch the Knights' 4-3 victory over Georgia Southern (2/24) by defeating Matthijs Verdam 4-6, 7-5, 6-3
• Knocked off the No. 96 ranked singles player, Moritz Buerchner of (3/1) UNF, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4
• Defeated the No. 71 singles player in the country, Derek Siddiqui of (3/5) No. 36 San Diego State, 6-4, 6-4 to earn himself consecutive victories over top-100 opponents
• Handled UC-Irvine's (3/6), Ryan Cheung, 6-2, 6-4 in UCF's 4-3 win
• Earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory against, Van Der Vloet, to preserve UCF's victory over Cleveland State (3/10)
• Before a defeat against Marquette's (3/15) best, had not lost a match since Feb. 15 and was victorious in nine of his last ten singles contests
• Retired No. 33 Cornell's (3/20) Venkat Iyer after four serves due to injury

FALL 2012
• Posted a 3-7 mark, versus all the No. 1 singles position
• Defeated Dylan Gunning of Florida Gulf Coast 6-0, 6-2 at the FGCU Fall Invitational
• Rallied to a 6-7, 7-6, 6-2 victory over Jackson Moore of Florida Gulf Coast
• Against the No. 8 singles player at the Bedford Cup, topped Florida State's Andres Bucaro 3-6, 6-3, 6-3

SPRING 2012
• Named to the All-Conference USA Second Team
• Recorded an 11-11 mark, all the No. 1 singles position
• Defeated two nationally ranked opponents
• Against No. 41 Wake Forest, topped 115th-ranked Danny Kreyman, 2-6, 6-3, 7-5
• In the C-USA Championship quarterfinals vs. No. 23 Tulsa, defeated 103rd-ranked Japie De Klerk, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4
• Also posted a victory over players from No. 32 Memphis and No. 21 Indiana
• Against Memphis, rolled to a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Joe Salisbury
• Facing Isade Juneau of Indiana, rallied for a 3-6, 6-2, 7-5 win
• Concluded the season with two-consecutive victories
• Went 3-2 during the spring in doubles play
• Posted a 2-2 mark with Mario Samson

FALL 2011
• Competed in four matches, and posted a victory over Andrew Carter of Louisville, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, at the UCF Spring Invitational
